Meeting Tues Aug 16; Firetruck in Parade & Country Fair Kids Activities Sep 10th– Volunteers Needed

The next regular meeting (in person) of the Chestermere Historical Foundation will be held at 1pm on Tuesday August 16th from 1-2pm at the Whitecappers 55+ Room 201 W Chestermere Drive.

Some initiatives are paused for summer and hopefully updates will be announced soon for ‘Word of Mouth,’ Historical Bridge Banners, a Community Banner celebrating the Webster Family, the Chelsea Pioneer Trail Sign Project, and the WID sign project. 

One project has gone ahead! On Friday August 12th the replica 1917 Red Cross Quilt will be installed in the Innovation Room at City Hall!   If you have any ideas for historical programming at the regular meetings during the winter, please email us your suggestions and ideas to   

Volunteers Needed 

If you have an inkling to ride on the 1952 firetruck in the Fair Parade 9am on Saturday Sep 10th, give Dave Nieckar a call or text! 

He is looking for three eager people to throw candy! 403 403 852 1915

Later on Saturday Sep 10th at the Red Ribbon Country Fair in the Rec Centre, CHF will be mounting a kids activity.  This will be ‘A Day in the Life’ featuring participatory activities from ‘the olden days’ for kids.  Butter churning (and tasting – application has been made to AHS), and using old equipment that was familiar to Grandma and Grandpa! Colouring pages and crosswords for adults and kids.  

This activity is  FREE 

— BUT a few volunteers are needed to help out, 10am to 4pm –and also to transport materials to display Sep 9th and from the Rec Centre to storage Sep 10th.  If YOU can help out please call /text Jen 403 200 8046
