For 2023 CHF will be once again doing two sessions for Historic Calgary Week.
On Tuesday August 1st 10:30am to 11:30am Eileen Mc Elroy will be presenting Trails, Roads and Rails to Chestermere at the Chestermere Regional Recreations Centre, 201 W Chestermere Drive. Journey through time on routes ranging from a First Nations Trail to CN rails to the Trans Canada Highway. Explore modes of transport in Chestermere from past to present
And later in the day take a historical boat tour of Chestermere Lake. August 1 at 1:30pm and second sailing at 2:45pm. Meet at The Landing, waiver (emailed when you register) must be completed. Chestermere Lake has come a long way from being ‘just a slough.” Learn about two railroads, WWII cadet training, sailing, water ski championships, dances and cabins. Alternate rain date of Thursday Aug 3rd.

CHF was back for 2022 with two presentations of historical interest to the Chestermere area. On Tuesday July 26th 2022 Doreen Masran presented the mystery of the missing Chestermere Mammoth tooth.
On Friday July 29th, long time Chestermere resident and former Calgary Yacht Club Commodore, Michael Hooper presented the History of the Calgary Yacht Club.
In 2021 The CHF participated once again in Historic Calgary Week having had a break over 2020.
Because of COVID restrictions, attendance was limited to 35 but both programs were sold out! First, Eileen McElroy presented on The Blackfoot Trail in Chestermere, and following that, Todd Mc Bride described his creating a steam powered bicycle.

In 2019 or the fourth time, and for the third year in a row, Chestermere Historical Foundation will take part in Historic Calgary Week, as sponsored by Chinook Country Historical Society. For the full program, go here.
CHF will present two programs, July 29th at 11am – 12 noon in Chestermere Public Library, Kay Clarke with ” The United Farm Women’s Association in Chestermere.” ( limit of 25 seats in library)
And following that, at 1pm, in the Chestermere Public Library, a ‘Virtual Boat Trip around Historic Chestermere.” A talk and slide show of historic places along the shores of Chestermere Lake with Jen and Bill Peddlesden. Following the 1 hour talk, an optional walk may be taken to see the historic Webster Barn ( 1.5km return, flat). ( limit of 25 seats in the library).
