A Home For All Seasons –  2005 

This book contains much of the content in the other earlier books.  As well, covers the history of the Summer Village/Town/City of Chestermere from ~1976 to 2005 with a page by page summary taken from the minutes of the municipality. It is no longer for sale but can be found at used book stores as can the other older history books and also in the digital collection here. 

Saddles Sleighs and Sadirons – 1971 

This excellent and FIRST history book of the Chestermere will soon be available online.   Hard copies can sometimes be found at book sales, and in used book stores, and there are copies to use as refereThis book has been digitized and is part of the University of Calgary Cultural Resources Digital Collection you can find each of them at the links following the descriptions. It captures much of what was in the first three books, plus some additional family information and a history of the Summer Village/Town/City of Chestermere from1976 to 2005. It can be found in the digital collection here nce in many local libraries including the Chestermere Public Library 105b Marina Road, Chestermere AB.  A supplement ” ‘The Changing Times’ was published in 1974 with updates to the 1971 publication.  The book is now digitized and housed with the University of Calgary Cultural Resources Digital Collection you can find it here.

The Changing Scene – a supplement to Saddles Sleighs and Sadirons 1972-1978

Growing Through Time 1981

This history book, edited by Elaine Peake, documents stories of the cabin owners who lived around Chestermere.  The book also documents the local organizations which were active at the time, and there is a chapter on the early history of the lake and its beginnings with the CPR Western Section Irrigation District.  Copies are available as reference at the Chestermere Public Library and other local rural libraries.  It has been digitized by the University of Calgary Cultural Resources Digital Collection and can be found here .
